Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Watts of Joy Christmas Lighting ("Watts of Joy," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website and provides seasonal Christmas light installation in Spearfish, South Dakota and the surrounding Black Hills. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
When you request a quote through a form on this site, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property where you want lights installed, and an optional budget range. We collect this because we cannot design or price a display without knowing the property.
We also receive standard technical information automatically, including your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This comes from your browser and from any analytics tools we use to understand how the site performs.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
How we use your information
We use what you give us to:
Respond to your quote request and schedule a consultation
Design, price, install, service, remove, and store your holiday lighting
Contact you about your project by phone, text, or email
Send seasonal scheduling and service notices
Keep records we need for accounting and warranty purposes
Improve the website and understand which pages people find useful
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it. That includes our website host, our email provider, payment processors, and scheduling or estimating software. These providers are required to protect your information and may not use it for anything else.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, when we need to enforce our agreements, or to protect the safety of people or property.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though blocking them may change how parts of the site behave.
Our quote forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that service.
How long we keep information
We keep quote requests and customer records while we have an active or recurring seasonal relationship with you, and afterward for as long as we need them for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete the information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Contact us or call 605-808-0724 and we will take care of it. You can also opt out of any marketing email using the unsubscribe link in that message.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you give us. No method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site may link to pages we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
